Singles and couples aren't the only people looking for adventurous vacations any more. More families are taking steps toward vacations that keep the adrenaline pumping. The British Government has launched a new travel safety program to assist in safer, or at least more documented, travel for all. The program seems to be doing quite well with about 54,000 tourists signing up since its launch in May.
The idea behind the program is to allow travelers to register their itinerary to allow loved ones to know where they are in the case of an emergency. Until now, natural disasters left family members wondering about the health and safety of their loved ones. This new program allows travelers to register their whereabouts online within moments. In the case of a natural disaster or emergency, the British Embassy will know where and how to contact the tourist and their family.
